About the venue
Why is it that Dillington House attracts such a high level of repeat business and the largest part of its new bookings come from client recommendations? Dillington enjoys a peaceful parkland setting in the heart of South Somerset.
The blend of a 16th Century Country House with a RIBA award-winning modern complex, offers a choice - or mix - of traditional and contemporary styles. It provides delegates with the opportunity to relax and look at issues from a fresh perspective, free from the distractions and interruptions of the normal workplace. As a conference and meeting centre, Dillington has the flexibility to deal with a broad spectrum of client requirements. There are 13 meeting rooms to suit uses ranging from a 1:1 meeting to a presentation for 160 delegates. All rooms have natural light and can be laid out in a seating format to suit your individual meeting requirements. In addition, there is free hardwired or wireless internet connection. For residential courses, all 40 bedrooms are en suite and styles range from modern with wet rooms to those in the original buildings which are more traditional and each that little bit different. Many have been refurbished this year. Good food makes for happy delegates and Dillington is well known for its superb homemade cooking. All food is prepared and cooked on the premises using local, seasonal produce wherever possible and features a variety of culinary styles. Private dining is available to allow groups to discuss issues in confidence over a good meal. Whether it’s a formal dinner or a finger buffet, the catering team excel at meeting special dietary requirements. Disability access is catered for in most areas. The majority of meeting rooms are on the ground floor and all 15 bedrooms in the new Hyde building are fully accessible by wheelchair. There are also hearing loops in several of the meeting rooms. All of the above qualities are supported by Dillington’s 5 Star Campus Award from VisitBritain which it has held for the past 7 years. Dillington may be an oasis of calm but its proximity to both the A303 and M5 (J25) provides excellent road connections to Exeter, Bristol and London. Taunton and Crewkerne railway stations are both nearby.
